
As part of the World Oral Health Day 2023 activities, the Aga Khan University Dental Hygiene Program organized a visit to Mirpur Sakro, a rural area in Sindh, Pakistan's interior. The program aimed to provide dental hygiene services and education to the population in the area. The team provided a total of 67 screenings and oral hygiene education to around 30 individuals.
The objective of the visit was to promote oral health awareness and provide practical education and resources to the community in Mirpur Sakro. The team aimed to build a collaborative network of communities by involving multidisciplinary stakeholders and community mobilizers. The team worked to identify potential barriers to accessing oral health care services in the area and provided solutions to address those barriers.
The visit included various activities, including dental hygiene services and education, as well as building partnerships and engaging with the community. The program aimed to promote a collaborative approach to oral health care and encourage the community to take ownership of their oral health. Overall, the visit aimed to promote oral health awareness and provide practical education and resources to improve the oral health of the community in Mirpur Sakro.
