GSL Dental College along with Indian dental association celebrated the World Oral health day on 20th March 2023. Dr Louie C Gutiereez, Head of Eastman dental center, Manila, Philippines inaugurated the program by watering the plants. , Dr Ghanta Sunil, Principal , Dr Rajendra Prasad,vice principal , Dr Ashok KP     Head - department of periodontics Dr Harikrishna, Secretary of IDA Lakshmipuram graced the occasion. Oral screening and oral hygiene kits were distributed to patients with support of group pharma. A Health talk in telugu was given by Dr Vaishnavi R, Second year Postgraduate student. A Guest lecture was given by Dr Soumyalakshmi, Senior lecturer of Periodontics about the Diagnosis and Treatment planning of periodontal diseases and Gum care for all the Interns, Post graduates and staff at 2 pm on 24th March 2023. 4 competitions were organized for students and staff. They were Photography competition, Mask Painting Competition, Slogan writing competition and Mouth frames competition. Prizes were given to the participants .Patients were taught the proper brushing technique and the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene. Patients were given an explanation about the link between periodontal disease and systemic diseases.
