NOHP Puducherry - "Door to Door "Oral awareness talk program conducted at PHC Bahour with AG Padmavathi College of nursing students.

27/03/26PHC Bahour WOHD 2026 door-to-door oral health awareness initiative, was successfully conducted in collaboration with AG Padmavathi nursing college community and Hope organisation BSW internsThe program focused on spreading awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use, educating families on oral hygiene, and engaging with local residents to promote a healthy, tobacco-free lifestyle.Program Highlight Door-to-Door Awareness on Tobacco HazardsThe outreach team visited households in the surrounding areas of PHC Bahour Information on the health risks of tobacco consumption was shared.Residents were encouraged to adopt tobacco-free habits.Support services offered by the Tobacco Cessation Centre were explained in detailDistribution of oral health & TCC Pamphlets Oral health awareness pamplets and Tobacco awareness pamphlets were distributed during household visits.Pamphlets included information on dangers of tobacco use.Steps to quit tobacco and details of cessation support available at TCC were highlighted.Community Interaction The team additionally engaged with local people at Bahour.Awareness on tobacco hazards and cessation support was provided.Pamphlets were distributed to individuals and shop owners.This community-based door-to-door program strengthened tobacco awareness, oral health education, and helped promote healthier living practices across the PHC Bahour region.Nearly 50 household being covered. 12 students benefited and engaged in the program.
