NOHP Puducherry- Mobile Dental Unit visits the Urban and Rural Primary Health centre's of Puducherry - 11 days campaign

On the account of world oral health day a 11 day awareness and dental treatment campaign was organised by National oral health Programme Puducherry during the months of January and February 2025.

These awareness and treatment camps were conducted in the following health facilities 
1. 2/1/25- HWC Murugampakkam - 32 benefited 
2. 8/1/25-HWC Koodapakam- 41 benefited including ANC mothers 
3. ⁠20/1/25-HWC Muthiyalpet-68 benefited 
4. ⁠27/1/25-HWC Sultanpet-33 benefited 
5. ⁠28/1/25-JIRHC Ramanathapuram - 43 benefited 
6. ⁠29/1/25- HWC Abhishegapakkam- 33 benefited 
7. ⁠30/1/25-HWC Kodathur- 36 benefited 
8. ⁠11/2/25- JIUHC Sv Patel salai- 35 benefited 
9. ⁠17/2/25 - HWC Villiyanur- 62 benefited .
10.24/2/25-HWC Thirubuvanai- 73 benefited 
11.  25/2/25 -HWC Manaveli- 46 benefited

Over the past 11 days spread across the month of January and February 2025, our dedicated teams have conducted dental awareness sessions, screenings, and treatments, reaching diverse communities and addressing a critical yet often overlooked aspect of overall well-being.

This campaign has not only empowered individuals with knowledge to maintain healthy smiles but also provided essential care to those who might otherwise lack access.

Conducting such initiatives at the PHC level is vital because it brings healthcare directly to the heart of communities, bridging gaps in accessibility and affordability. PHCs serve as the first point of contact, especially in rural areas, where specialized dental services are scarce. By integrating oral health into primary care, we ensure early detection and intervention, preventing minor issues from escalating into severe conditions.

This approach fosters a culture of prevention, reduces the burden on tertiary healthcare systems, and promotes sustainable health outcomes. Our efforts in Puducherry underscore the power of grassroots-level intervention, proving that healthy smiles can indeed begin at the doorstep of every community.

By the end of 11 days campaign 469 patients were screened , a total of 37 scaling, 123 Pit & Fissure sealants ,60 permanent restorations were done.
