A one-month dental outreach program was successfully conducted by the Mobile Dental Unit across various Community Health Centres (CHCs) to improve oral health awareness and provide essential dental services to diverse target populations.
The primary objective of the camp was to enhance access to oral healthcare services, especially for underserved and vulnerable groups, and to promote preventive dental practices within the community.
The program was systematically planned and implemented across multiple CHCs, PHCs and Subcentres ensuring wide coverage and effective service delivery.
Throughout the month, the mobile dental team visited different centres and catered to a variety of target populations, including antenatal mothers, elderly individuals, industrial workers, and the general public.
Each visit included oral health screening, diagnosis, and basic treatment services such as scaling, restorations, extractions, and emergency care where required.
In addition to clinical services, oral health education formed a key component of the program. Interactive awareness sessions were conducted focusing on proper oral hygiene practices, the importance of regular dental check-ups, dietary counseling, and prevention of common dental diseases such as dental caries and periodontal diseases.
Demonstrations of correct brushing techniques and distribution of educational materials further reinforced the messages.
