NOHP Puducherry - Oral health Educators training for Primary school teachers- Karaikal District

On January 7th 2025, National oral health program Puducherry organised the oral health educators training program for Government/ Private Primary school teachers at JIPMER Karaikal conference Hall at Karaikal. 

The training program focused  on  training teachers on various topics like basic dentistry, common Dental problems, oral habits & its effects and also about handling an emergency dental trauma situation in school premises.

The training program also had other engaging group activities for the teachers. Proper brushing techniques for both adults and school going children was also demonstrated using Dental models .  

The training program was headed by Dr. Kavipriya , State Nodal Officer -  National Oral Health Programme (NOHP)  Puducherry, along with Dental Surgeon from GH Karaikal. Certificates were also distributed for all the 50 participants.

Investing in teacher training creates a ripple effect, leading to better oral health outcomes for future generations and reducing the overall burden of dental diseases in the community. A well-informed teacher today means a healthier tomorrow for our children.
