NOHP Puducherry - Training of nursing students on importance of oral health in a rural primary health centre

On March 21, 2025, PHC Nettapakkam celebrated World Oral Health Day (WOHD) 2025 with a focus on promoting oral health awareness.

The event saw the participation of nearly 20 GNM and ANM students from ICON, Venkateshwara Campus, Ariyur. As future healthcare providers, nursing students have a key role in promoting overall health and wellness. A pledge focused on oral health emphasizes its connection to general health, encouraging students to advocate for better oral hygiene practices within the communities they serve.

By making a formal commitment to oral health, nursing students reinforce the importance of their role as health advocates, encouraging multidisciplinary approaches to patient care that consider oral health as integral to overall health.
