Hello everyone! We are Misheel Kids Foundation from Mongolia, and we are very happy to be part of World Oral Health Day.
As an NGO dedicated to improving children’s oral health, we have been providing free dental check-ups and treatments to children in need since 2016—especially those living in suburban and remote areas of Mongolia.
So far, we have gifted healthy smiles to over 21,000 children, completely free of charge. Our journey continues to grow stronger every year.
As we strongly focus on oral health education alongside providing free dental treatment, we also educate parents and caregivers of children in suburban and remote areas.
For this reason, we regularly conduct “Oral Health Education for Parents” sessions in these communities. We recognize that parents and caregivers play the most important role in maintaining their children’s oral health. Therefore, we believe that educating parents is one of the most effective ways to prevent tooth decay in the future.
So far, we have provided oral health education to over 35,000 parents. Our sessions cover topics such as proper toothbrushing techniques for children, choosing the right toothbrush and causes of tooth decay, and nutrition.
Parents are deeply grateful for this knowledge, as opportunities to learn specifically about oral health are still limited, and such education is rarely included in formal schooling.
In addition, we conduct oral health education sessions for parents of children with special needs and disabilities. We provide advice based on each child’s condition. Many parents have shared that this type of guidance is especially lacking in Mongolia, particularly for children with special needs.
Because we believe long-term education is the key to a healthier future, we remain committed to educating parents and caregivers.
