Warm Oral Health Tour for "Children of the Stars" Held at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital
On March 18, ahead of World Oral Health Day on March 20, Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital welcomed a special group of young visitors—teachers and students from Luwan Fudu Experimental School Affiliated to East China Normal University. Amid the warm spring sunshine, a special oral health exploration tour tailored for "children of the stars" officially began.
Walking Together on the Medical Journey, Sailing with a Smile
Prior to the event, teachers and students took a group photo with the medical teams from the department of Pediatric Dentistry outside the outpatient building. Curious about the "mysterious building" filled with the scent of disinfectant, the children looked around with a mix of nervousness and anticipation.
Exploring the Dental Clinic: A Brave Challenge
Entering the pediatric dentistry clinics, the children gathered hesitantly around the dental chairs at first. With the patient encouragement and guidance of medical staff, they bravely lay on the chairs one by one, opened their mouths to cooperate with examinations, and successfully completed this brave challenge.
Learning Proper Tooth Brushing: Professional Guidance Makes a Difference
In the waiting area outside the clinics, the children learned the standard toothbrushing techniques under the instruction of medical staff. Holding dental models, they practiced earnestly until they could independently brush all areas of the model correctly.
Oral Health Classroom: Caring for Teeth and Building Healthy Habits
The pediatric dentistry team prepared a tailored oral health classroom for "children of the stars" and their parents, helping them fully understand oral care knowledge, integrate tooth protection into daily life, and embrace a happy life with healthy teeth.
Oral Health Science Exhibition
- Showcasing the pride of a healthy mouth
- Interpreting children’s adverse oral habits and occlusal guidance
Although a single experience and lecture are short, the concepts conveyed can last a lifetime. The Department of Pediatric Dentistry of Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital will continue to stand by children, committed to helping them own a healthy and neat set of teeth. The sweet smiles of children are our greatest comfort and joy.
