Indian Dental Association celebrated world oral health day 2024 campaign throughout India Branches conducted numerous activities for deprived communities, increased oral health awareness.
In this regard, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) associated with IDA to observe WOHD 2024 for creating oral health promotion and prevention activities for all age groups around 20th March till 31st March Branches obtained resourcesfrom https://www.worldoralhealthday.org/resources WOHD theme "A HAPPY MOUTH IS A HAPPY BODY"
List of activities conducted by IDA WOHD 2024:
1. IEC material and banner displaying the oral health awareness month in prominent places.
2. A public event like a walkathon/marathon, rahagiri, cycle rally, rally, public tooth brushing, public lectures, school teachers’ training, health workers’ training etc. tomark the event and sensitize the public.
3. Pledge Ceremony by oral health professionals for promoting good oral health for all and created oral health awareness.
4. Pledge Ceremony for the public and patients for taking care of oral health
5. Be Proud of Your Mouth Selfie Booth
6. Quiz, slogan writing, reel, meme, chart, painting, short film-making competitions.
7. Social Media coverage (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Institutional Website)
8. Radio/TV campaign/newspaper article/talk shows/street dramas/flash mob to awareness regarding oral health
9. Interactions with the community leaders to create awareness.
10. Oral health examinations/Awareness camps at prominent public places e.g. bus stands,railway stations etc. and identified workplaces to make the public aware.
11. Screening and treatment camps in Anganwadi centres, Pre-Schools, and Schools along with demonstration of adequate methods of tooth brushing, mass brushing and distribution of oral hygiene packs.
12. Pit and fissure sealant and fluoride varnish application drive in the facility and the community.
13. Special camps for screening and treating oral diseases in vulnerable populations. E.g.old age homes, special children, underprivileged populations in urban slums,orphanages, rural remote areas and tribal areas.
14. Denture fabrication drive to provide dentures to BPL patients and people in old age,homes along with training caregivers at old age homes.
15. Continuing Dental Education Programme and training of dentists, nurses and para-dental/ medical professionals.
The above activities are suggested by Ministry of Health and Family welfare IDA branches are carried out major of these activities .
Any other relevant activities, as maybe deemed fit, may also be carried out.
