On March 17, on the eve of the World Oral Health Day, the medical staff from the Department of Pediatric Dentistry of the Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, in cooperation with Shanghai Huiling and Zhejiang Smile for Tomorrow Charitable Foundation, held an oral health care salon for families with special children. Doctors conducted a comprehensive oral examination for the children, carefully observed the condition of their teeth and gingiva, assessed the potential risk of tooth decay and occlusal problems, learned about the children's oral hygiene habits from their parents and their acceptance of oral care, and set up an oral health file for each child. For children found to have serious oral problems during the assessment, in addition to giving treatment recommendations, a green channel was opened for them to ensure that the children could receive professional treatment in a timely manner. This measure not only relieved the psychological pressure of parents, but also made this activity more meaningful and connotative.
