Event

The 13th edition of Prophylaxis Days aimed to promote oral health awareness, inclusion, and preventive care across Tunisia. With a focus on underserved communities and special needs groups, the campaign emphasized that oral health is a right for all.
- The campaign launched on March 11 at the Faculty of Dental Medicine in Monastir with 80 participants.
- An online awareness campaign addressed oral hygiene during Ramadan, complemented by the Fast & Freshvideo series.
- A Women’s Day webinar (March 8) in partnership with IEEE WIE IT linked oral health with mental well-being.
- 15 school visits across 5 cities (Monastir, Kairouan, Sousse, Sfax, and more) reached thousands of students through fun, educational, and inclusive activities, often accompanied by our mascot Toothie the Beaver.
- On World Oral Health Day (March 20), we celebrated with children with special needs, creating joyful, adapted experiences for them and their parents.
- The closing trip allowed participants to relax while continuing outreach and introducing Toothie to the general public.
The campaign successfully blended education, advocacy, and joy—proving that oral health awareness can be both impactful and inclusive.

Press Coverage
During Prophylaxis Days 13.0, we aimed to reach the largest audience possible—to introduce the event and to highlight the importance of oral hygiene, mental health, and the overall campaign theme.
On 14th March, we were honored to welcome Radio Sabra FM, a well-known and widely followed local radio station in Kairouan. With a strong presence on Facebook and a large number of followers, Sabra FM played a key role in amplifying our message. The video they shared from our school visit in Kairouan reached 6.6K views and received many positive interactions.
The second radio intervention took place on Jawhara FM, one of the top three radio stations in Tunisia. Jawhara FM is not only popular in the Sousse region, but also enjoys a nationwide audience with a large and loyal following.
This platform gave us a valuable opportunity to advocate for equal access to oral health, especially for children with disabilities and vulnerable populations. As dental students, we used this space to raise awareness about the importance of both oral and mental health, emphasizing that these fundamental aspects of well-being should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their circumstances.
In addition to radio coverage, our campaign received attention on social media, particularly on Facebook, where several pages and individuals shared posts highlighting our activities, objectives, and impact. These posts helped spread awareness beyond the schools we visited, reaching a wider audience and encouraging public engagement with the themes of oral hygiene, mental health, and community solidarity.
The positive comments and interactions on these posts reflected the community’s appreciation and support, reinforcing the value of our outreach efforts both online and offline.
