The Saudi Dental Society (SDS) has consistently demonstrated its commitment to enhancing public oral health through the successful organization of World Oral Health Day (WOHD) celebrations across Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Dental society carried out large-scale oral health campaigns to popularize WOHD activity under the able guidance and leadership of Dr. Ziyad Allahem. In 2025, SDS expanded its outreach with the theme "PROUD MOUTH," hosting over 108 major events throughout the kingdom. From 4th February- 20th March various events were conducted, which reached more than 63,000 beneficiaries across the kingdom. The events were held in diverse locations, including Riyadh (34249), Jeddah (9930), Alkharj (7369), Al-Baha (5190), Taif(4600), and Almadinah (1662), among others. These initiatives not only provided essential dental services but also educated the public on the importance of oral health and and more than 55000 oral health gift hampers were presented.
Recognizing the increase in digital engagement, many organizations launched social media campaigns, Influential dentists and healthcare influencers shared daily tips, video content, and answered public queries through Instagram Lives and Twitter Spaces, using the hash tags of #BrushandBoogie , #WOHD25, #HappyMouth , #World_Oral_Health_DayA outreach about WOHD, 2025 through Media was created with the greatest response on Instagram from Riyadh with 71781 seeing the posts followed by Jeddah of around 40,600,
SDS's extensive campaign included interactive activities, educational materials for WOHD, and expert advice from dental professionals. The events were strategically held in high-traffic areas such as malls, schools, and health centers to maximize public engagement. Each event lasted over eight hours and involved a team of dentists, including senior experts, to ensure comprehensive care. The WOHD activities offered a range of services, including free dental diagnoses and treatment advice for various oral health issues such as maxillofacial surgery, root canal treatment, periodontal conditions, orthodontics, denture repairs, implants, and pediatric dental care.
